Siddhant Chaturvedi Reacts On Gully Boy Dropping Out Of Oscars- EXCLUSIVE
It was a moment of pride for team Gully Boy when the film was chosen as India’s official entry in the Best Foreign Language category at the 92nd Academy Awards. But unfortunately, Gully Boy was not a part of the shortlist. Naturally, several people were disheartened.

When we engaged in a conversation with Siddhant Chaturvedi, who marked his Bollywood debut with the film, we asked if it pinched him that his debut project didn’t make the cut to which he said, “Yes, a little bit obviously. But then, I was happy because for me, it was my first film. So I think I was content with the fact that Gully Boy went till the Oscars. The Jury saw the film, and it received international exposure.”

He added, “I even get messages from all over the world. The film has been widely accepted and loved. So, I'm just happy with that. Awards mile, naa mile, that doesn't matter so much.”

We then asked him if he ever expected Gully Boy to reach dizzying heights and bring him BIG recognition to which he said, “I was not thinking from that point of view. Mujhe bas itna confidence tha ki kaam milega iske baad. But at the same time, I was very sure about the choices I'm going to make because I really waited for Gully Boy. When I read the script, I knew this is going to have an impact. However, I never knew that it would be so big.”

The talented actor has 2 interesting films lined up- Yash Raj Films’ Bunty Aur Babli 2 and Shakun Batra film opposite Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday.
